Zip Lining in Oahu

Have you been to Oahu for a number of times already? Are you are looking for something different to do? Why not try zip lining?  Not many tourists know that zip lining in Oahu is one of the most thrilling activities you should do while in the island. In fact, many companies are providing this experience of a lifetime.

Zip lining in Oahu offers a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. Add to that the fact that it will definitely give you that adrenaline rush some people really crave for when they are traveling.

No matter the situation, Oahu offers a few different choices of zip lines for you to ride and enjoy. With the number of options, how can you choose the best of the bunch? Here are some considerations you should think about:

Speed and Length

If it’s just thrills you’re looking for, then you want the longest, fastest zip line. Of course, these attributes must consider depending on which type of tourist are you.

Scenery

Oahu is a beautiful place—regardless of zip line you choose to ride.

Convenience

Since most visitors stay in Waikiki, here are approximate drive times from there. Kualoa Ranch is a little under 1 hour away. The Oahu North Shore Zip line is about 1.5 hours away. And the trip to Bay View takes about 35 minutes from Waikiki.

Service

This is an easy one. All of the zip lines on Oahu have excellent service. The guides consistently receive rave reviews. We have never had a complaint about any of the guides at these zip lines.

Tips and reminders:

In preparation for your zip line excursion, you will need few reminders:

  • Wear closed-toed shoes. Operators will not allow you to zip line if you are wearing open-toed footwear such as flip flops or sandals.
  • Wear long pants. You never know what type of environment you will be in.
  • If it’s your first time zip lining, it is advisable that you start on a shorter zip line. Once you’ve had a go at one of the more rudimentary setups, you’re ready to work your way up.
  • Keep in mind that the longer the zip line, generally, the taller the line. Which in turn means the faster you’re going to fall. If you suffer from a fear of heights, try to look at the horizon while on the zip line.

Choosing the perfect zip lining experience can seem daunting. Luckily, Oahu has several great zip line tour operators to choose from. Zip lines are a complete sensory experience, and Oahu offers sites unlike anywhere else in the world.  You’ll not only see the extraordinary sights that Oahu has to offer. But you’ll be able to hear, feel, taste, and smell it as well. There is no way to see the jungles and mountains of Oahu like on a zip line. It is a completely unfiltered experience unlike any other.
